„About Little People Romania: it provides for the paediatric oncology in Romania (8 paediatric oncology departments) and Moldova (2 paediatric oncology departments) a range of quality services, daily programs of psychosocial support to patients, complex events for the young cancer survivors, professionalism in coordinating volunteers, material support of the departments of the hospital through playroom renovation, donation of medical equipment and purchase of difficult to access medicine medicines, care and constant involvement from a dedicated team.
The organisation’s mission is to improve the quality of life of children and young people with cancer by providing specialist psychological interventions, throughout the hospitalization period and after treatment, thus contributing significantly to the increase of the survival rate.
In 2006, Little People Romania opened Temerarii Club – the Romanian community of teenagers who survived cancer – which today numbers over 400 members, being the largest group of mutual support among adolescents and young adults affected by cancer, and one of the most active community of its kind in Europe.
